Kickin' it just for you
Before people thought of the Internet as a place to make money (dotcom era) or get famous or seek approval (social media era), it was just a simple magical joy to be able to create something beautiful and semi-ephemeral for the simple love of creating things. Or to go places where you could just share ideas and pictures, and the people it attracted tended to just be content with that. It’s easy to forget that.
It’s still cheap to create a website (this sucker is free), you just have to know how to do it (and it’s not that hard). Honestly, the hardest part about it these days is figuring out which free option is the easiest. And making the time to just do it.
Anyway. What I used to love about the Internet is still true. Or it can be if you focus on that and not trying to make an app or a business model or get a zillion likes and followers. That’s why I’m doing this. It feels like getting back to basics and resetting.
