Day two about thinking about how to manage the artifacts of my digital life.

Doing some googling, there are some folks out there who are thinking along the lines that I am.

I do ultimately just want to use this software, after all. Not having to create it all from scratch would be a big help. That said, I do want full control, and that is a concern with Obsidian: what happens if it’s semi-open-source model changes?

Also: it’s primarily a journaling app. I think writing and journaling are a big part of what I want: the part where you reflect on your experience, where you integrate and make sense of it.

But I also think passive collection is important: something that takes all the data you’ve generated, all the data about you (sensors like smart scales or watches), all the data about the environment you were in at the time (weather, geospatial), and make visual timelines about it at different scales. So, still looking for that part.
